Cesta Six Startup Project
Cesta 6 was a startup initiative launched with my design partner Juan Carlos Escobar. The goal was to explore the creation of an athleisure footwear brand with a strong artistic identity.
In 2017, we reimagined the direction of the brand, shifting the design focus toward modularity and customizable footwear. I explored a system where a knitted base upper could be adapted with interchangeable modular components. This would allow users to change the look and functionality of their shoes. Using digital renderings, I developed multiple concept variations and configurations to express this new, adaptable design language.

The design of a custom outsole for the Cesta 6 footwear line, integrating the brand identity into the tread pattern. I created initial concept sketches and translated them into a physical clay model to better communicate the form and tread design. The tread featured the Cesta 6 logo as part of the pattern. I provided detailed drawings and sectional views to guide our manufacturing partner in Dongguan, China. I oversaw revisions to finalize the outsole design; the end result was an EVA foam sample.

The original concept was an athleisure shoe featuring a removable, oversized tongue designed as a canvas for local artists. This would allow Cesta 6 to collaborate directly with artists and showcase their work on limited-run footwear. I led the concept development, and design phases.
